Louisiana Guard Light Artillery was organized during the winter of 1861-1862 at
New Orleans, Louisiana, with men of this city. The unit was ordered to Virginia
and assigned to the Department of Norfolk and later to H. P. Jones' and A. W.
Starke's Battalion of Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia. It fought from Cedar
Mountain to Bristoe, then served in the Richmond area north of the James River
and later the Appomattox Campaign. It lost 2 killed and 5 wounded out of the 60
at Gettysburg and surrendered with no officers and 17 men. The company was
commanded by Captains Louis E. D'Aquin, Camille E. Girardey, C.A. Green, and

Harrison's Regiment, Louisiana Harrison's Regiment, Louisiana 15th
Cavalry Battalion was organized during the winter of 1862-1863 and contained
four cavalry, one infantry, and one artillery company. The unit served in the
District of Western Louisiana but was soon broken up. Some of the men served in
Harrison's 3rd Louisiana Cavalry Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Isaac F. Harrison

Crescent Light Artillery was organized in the summer of 1863 and mustered into
Confederate service at Alexandria, Louisiana. Most of the officers and men had
served in the Crescent Infantry Regiment. The unit was assigned to the
Trans-Mississippi Department and was active in various conflicts within the
borders of Louisiana. It was stationed near Shreveport in April, 1865, and later
disbanded. Captain T. H. Hutton was in command. 185 MEN

Landry's Company, Louisiana Artillery (Donaldsonville Artillery)
Donaldsonville Light Artillery was organized during the late summer of 1861 in
Ascension Parish, Louisiana. It was soon ordered to Virginia and after serving
under Longstreet was assigned to C. Richardson's Battalion of Artillery, Army of
Northern Virginia. The unit fought with the army from Williamsburg to Cold
Harbor, then was active in the Petersburg siege and the Appomattox Campaign. The
company lost 1 killed and 3 wounded at Gaines' Mill and Frayser's Farm, had 1
killed and 6 wounded at Fredericksburg, and 2 wounded out of the 114 engaged
at Gettysburg. It totaled 90 men in April, 1864, and surrendered with 4
officers, 64 men, and 4 servants. Captains Victor Maurin and R. Prosper Landry
were in command. 298 MEN
