| Louisisna became an organized territory on March 26, 1804. It became the 18th
state on April 30, 1812. Our Motto is: Union, Justice, and Confidence. Our State symbols are the Flower Magnolia, the tree Bald Cypress, the bird Eastern Brown Pelican. Our nickname is the Pelican State Our State songs are: Give Me Louisiana and You Are My Sunshine |
