| In the matter of the Emancipation of Quinn T. Bugg Filed Jany. 29th/79 Drew Ferguson Clerk, D.C. Duly recorded in Book "T" Dist. Court records on pages 505-506 this Feb. 4th 1879 Drew Ferguson Clerk, D.C. To the Honorable Judge of the Parish Court of Claiborne Parish Louisiana The petition of Quinn T. Bugg minor child of Edmond D. Bugg and above the age of eighteen years and a resident of the parish of Claiborne- respectfully show unto your honor that they desire to be relieved from the time assigned by law for attaining the age of majority. Petitioner shows that he has certain property now in the hands of his tutor William F. Moreland-Petitioner desires to assume the management and control of this property himself. He being fully prepared and capable of doing so. Petitioner shows that the amount of property to which he is entitled is about Fifteen Hundred Dollars. Therefore petitioner says that William F. Moreland Tutor (unreadable...)and on final hearing that your pre be relieved from all the disabilities which now attach to said minor with full power to do and perform any and all acts as fully as if he had attained the years of majority. And your petitioner prays for all orders necessary and for general and special relief. Wm. B. Bugg and further by reason of the written assent of William F. Moreland his Tutor I order a adjudge and decree that Quinn T. Bugg be fully emancipated and relieved from all the disabilities of which now attach to minors with full power to do and perform all acts as fully as if he had arrived at the age of Twenty-one years in accordance with articles 385 and 386 of the civil code of Louisiana.
