Benjamine Bugg's will, listing slave distribution, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana

P EO Sturges wife of M. A. Sturges shall have a Negro boy named Elbert and a Negro girl named Alberta, one bay horse, four cows one note of fifty dollars and twenty five dollars in money as her distributive share of the estate aforesaid and that E. D. Bugg shall have all other effects both real and personal of any kind whatsoever except Negro man named Nathan belonging to and held or owned by said Quin Bugg at the time of his death upon condition that he pay all the debts of said Quin Bugg deceased and now that the said distribution as above stated may be binding and of effect in law we do each for ourselves our heirs and for those we represent relinquish and forever quit claim for ourselves our heirs and assigns all the right all interest or claim to any or all of the property belonging to the estate of said Quin Bugg deceased except to our distributive share as stated above and to the Negro man named Nathan who the said Quin Bugg deceased desired as he expressed previous to his death in the presence of Johnothan Taylor Young D. Allen J. B. Kennedy and others should belong to his nephew Quin F. Bugg minor child of E. D. Bugg now in consideration of said request made as above stated we the legal heirs and the representatives of the legal heirs of Quin Bugg deceased as aforesaid do hereby relinquish and forever quit claim for ourselves our heirs and assigns unto the said Negro man Nathan. In testimony whereof we have each for ourselves and for those we represent herewith subscribed our names in presence of Benjamine and Henry Drake witnesses of lawful age and domiciled in said parish and state on the 28th day of October the year one thousand eighty hundred and sixty three.
